Upcoming BBQ (June 8)

  • Hosted by Ernest at the club property.
  • Starts at 2:00 PM, with lunch from 3–5 PM.
  • Club provides hot dogs, hamburgers, baked potatoes, and soft drinks.
  • Members encouraged to bring salads, desserts, special proteins, and adult beverages.
  • Volunteers needed for cleanup beforehand—contact Ernest at 780-945-1668.
  • Recommended access via NE entrance due to roadwork.

Club Raffle & Spring Lake Fair

  • ETFC will man a booth at the Spring Lake Fall Fair (Sept. 13).
  • Selling raffle tickets for a Quicksilver 365 HD PVC boat ($10/ticket).
  • Draw takes place Sept. 20—tickets available via e-transfer.

Fishing & Conservation Updates

  • Walleye Spawning Camp: Goal of 20M eggs, reached 15M, stocked across Alberta lakes.
  • Prussian Carp Alert: This invasive species threatens trout. If caught, it must be killed—never returned to the lake.
  • Fishing Flies for Trout: Popular patterns include chironomids, leeches, damselflies, and terrestrials.

Provincial Initiatives

  • Mandatory Boat Inspections: Starting June 1, watercraft entering Alberta must stop for inspections to prevent invasive species spread.
  • AWF Yellow Perch Transfer Project: Volunteers needed for fish transfers in July/August—contact Gaetan Richard.
