The November Meeting will feature invited guest Stephen Spencer, the Senior Area Fisheries Biologist for SRD for the Woodlands Area (west of Edmonton). Stephen has been working as a biologist for over 17 years, the last 12 of which have been with Fish and Wildlife. He recently completed his Doctorate degree studying the consequences of size selective harvest on Alberta fish populations. Stephen will be providing information on recently completed projects in the province and in the Woodlands Area, including: the Wabamun Walleye restoration work; a population estimate and regulation changes for burbot fisheries; a comprehensive program to study limitations to lake sturgeon in the North Saskatchewan River; and an update on local lakes and rivers.
This Meeting will begin the 2012 Membership Renewals process and submission of registrations/payments for the 2011 Christmas Brunch (see November Newsletter articles on these two topics for details).
